The ECB in conjunction with the ACO have issued new guidelines on how to deal with poor ground weather and light conditions.
These stem from an unfortunate court case where umpires were sued by a player who was injured during a match.
The Executive committee strongly recommend that all relevant members of every club read and act on the information on the leaflet, which can be downloaded from out Documents library
As you may be aware Gordon Halsall has announced his retirement from the role of League Secretary, The members of the Executive wish to place on record our gratitude for his unstinting work during his time in office and are delighted that he has agreed to continue as Disciplinary Chairman.
We would also like to Welcome Dave Nelson as the new secretary and wish him every success in his new role, we trust that all clubs will give him their full support and assistance.
As agreed at the AGM player registration for this season is to done on line via Play-Cricket. To date many clubs have started this process and some have completed it, there are 2 teams who have done nothing at all.
1) Teams will not be permitted to use rule D1 (c) for Players who were registered in previous seasons.
2) Teams will be unable to select players on their results who have not been registered under the new scheme, therefore they will be liable for penalties under Rule F2 and there will be no amnesty period.
Whilst the registration secretary will take all reasonable measures to ensure that players put forward are registered in reasonable time please remember that the exec do have other jobs. DO NOT LEAVE IT TILL THE LAST MINUTE to register your players
